How I Got Started With Wealthy Affiliate University
I wasn't sure that I wanted to share my Wealthy Affiliate Success Story because I AM NOT the type of person who likes to talk about my success - but I AM the type of person likes to help other people obtain their success.
And seeing you are reading this and I want to see you succeed - here is my Wealthy Affiliate Success Story.
Back in 2006, I was looking for more ways to supplement my existing income because I wasn't satisfied with what I was earning and my wife was expecting our first child. For all those Fathers out there, you can then understand the stress I was going through. I needed to find a way to make more money for my family.
I tried making money with Google AdSense by purchasing a bunch of domains and subscribing to an article writing membership that supplied a bunch of unique articles each month - this was a $97 a month investment. The intention was to make a bunch of websites and put the written article content on there with some Google AdSense ads where you make money every time someone clicks on the ad. But after about three months of this - I failed at making any money and quit this Adsense system as I was wasting my time and had no direction to do this properly.
Not Making Money with Google AdSense made me feel like a failure
Desperate to find the right solution, I ended up purchasing every internet marketing related product that was thrown in front of me – and felt overwhelmed with information overload! I had too many systems and not enough direction - I was ready to give up.
Now, at this time I had HEARD of Wealthy Affiliate University from various websites and even visit the official Wealthy Affiliate University website a couple of times, but I still felt hesitant to make the commitment in fear of failing again.
Then one evening – an amazing thing happened.
I headed to Costco to pick up some necessities for my upcoming new baby boy. And off in the distance, I saw someone who looked familiar but I didn’t quite recognize. 
As I got closer, I instantly realized it was Carson, the founder of Wealthy Affiliate! I had recognized him from the picture on the Wealthy Affiliate website and remembered reading that we live in the same city.
Seeing how I had nothing to lose, I went to introduce myself and talk to him. To my surprise, Carson was very helpful and was more than happy to answer my questions (although he was a little surprised that I had recognized him). He had mentioned that most people who join Wealthy Affiliate are the direct result of frustration from other make money online programs. I was happy to hear that I wasn’t alone with my feelings of frustration. I was convinced that Wealthy Affiliate was the right choice.
I Decided To Join Wealthy Affiliate
So, after about 40 minutes of talking with Carson I rushed home and signed up as a member of Wealthy Affiliate University and started taking action and learning right away. Within minutes of signing up as a member, I was welcomed by dozen of other members who were once frustrated like myself and are now making a living as a full time internet marketer. I quickly learned that it was so much more than a learning portal for internet marketing, but a community of others who share knowledge and help out in any way they can. At that point, I knew that I made a right decision joining Wealthy Affiliate University.
After reading and watching some of the video tutorials for a couple of days, I was ready to start making money AND had the confidence to succeed. You see, Kyle and Carson not only teach you how to make money online, but teach you how to have the confidence to do it.
So, on day 6 of being a Wealthy Affiliate member, I received my first commission from promoting a sport related product. I thought being an affiliate for sport related products was good for me as I had some knowledge in the niche. I was REALLY excited from that first commission as it was a sign of success! But I was taught to continue to promote and not wait for commissions. So I continued to promote and then the next day, another sale, and another and ANOTHER...
Within a couple of weeks I was starting to make a consist ant stream of revenue all from internet marketing.
Joining Wealthy Affiliate completely changed my life forever...
Now fast forward to today...
I have quit my day job, take several family vacations throughout the year and make a very comfortable income from online marketing - and this is the direct result of learning from the Wealthy Affiliate University. And since becoming a member, I haven’t purchased any additional internet marketing products that are being thrown in front of me and don’t plan to ever again.

In fact, this year I was invited down to a very private Wealthy Affiliate Las Vegas Conference where only the top Wealthy Affiliate members are invited. Below is a picture of me (on the right) with the other top members at a Las Vegas show.
As you can see, it’s possible to have a successful online business and that you don’t need to be an expert to get started. Wealthy Affiliate University was the right choice for me and I am very happy that I joined.
I am also very grateful that I bumped into Carson and had the opportunity to talk to him. Who knows where I would be if that didn’t happen – but I know that I WOULDN’T be as successful as I am now without Wealthy Affiliate.
